Summary
CEGF cold stores in Loudéac are described: 260,000 m3 at -25 deg C adjoining the GELAGRI factory, with two chambers equipped with mobile palletizers and 60,000 m3 for peak storage. Also included are four horizontal-plate quick-freezers of 9.5 t/h, seven vertical-plate quick-freezers of 3.6 t/h and six fluidized-bed quick-freezers with a total capacity of 38.7 t/h for peas. Four back-up generating sets of 3,000 kVA are available. The refrigerating plants are of the booster type with screw compressors, and are operated by data-processing devices with computer-assisted maintenance. Handling equipment is diversified, including eighteen guided-by-wire fork trucks. A packaging workshop is used as a waiting room. Staff numbers are given. The activity of the cold store represents 380,000 pallets a year. J.L.
