Summary

The factory Gelagri-Bretagne, with a maximum capacity of 50,000 tons of frozen vegetables per year, established in Loudéac (France) is described. Raw material is continuously processed, as well as quick freezing, done in plate freezers or fluidised beds. The finished product is stored in palleted crates in bulk or packaged in its selling package according to the market needs (2500 reference). The factory targets are given. Quality concern comes first and a quality-assurance system is being certified. Total automation of the process (from the producer to the consummer) is sought after and environment protection is under study. J.L.
