CONTINUOUS CONTROL OF THE HEATING CAPACITY OF HEAT PUMPS BY MEANS OF NON-AZEOTROPIC MIXTURES.

Author(s) : GROMOLL B., GUTBIER H.

Summary

CAPACITY CAN BE CONTROLLED RELATIVELY SIMPLY BY TWO OR THREE ACCUMULATORS IN THE REFRIGERATING CYCLE. CONTROL IS SPECIALLY EFFICIENT WITH MIXTURES FOR WHICH THE RATIO OF THE SATURATING VAPOUR PRESSURES OF PURE FLUIDS IS AT LEAST EQUAL TO 5. THE ACCUMULATORS SHOULD BE SIZED SO THAT THEY CAN INDIVIDUALLY CONTAIN ABOUT FOUR TIMES THE REFRIGERANT QUANTITY REQUIRED BY THE REFRIGERATING CYCLE. THERMAL CAPACITY CAN BE CONTROLLED BY CHANGING THE VAPORIZATION PRESSURE. THE COP'S OBTAINED DEPEND ON THE SELECTION OF THE MIXTURE AND ITS CONCENTRATION. A MARKED IMPROVEMENT OF THE COP IS OBSERVED IN A RELATIVELY NARROW RANGE ONLY FOR THE PLANT WITH A RECUPERATOR.
