CRYOPRESERVATION OF MOUSE OOCYTES: INFLUENCE OF COOLING RATE.

Author(s) : GARCÍA J.

Type of article: Article

Summary

MOUSE OOCYTES HAVE BEEN FROZEN UTILIZING 1.5 M DMSO AS CRYOPRO TECTANT. DIFFERENT COOLING RATES WERE ASSAYED. VIABILITY TESTS EMPLOYED WERE: MORPHOLOGY ASSESSMENT, FLUORESCEIN DIACETATE STAINING AND < IN VITRO > FERTILIZATION. RESULTS SHOWED HIGH DISCREPANCY BETWEEN MORPHOLOGICAL AND FUNCTIONAL TESTS. NEVERTHELESS COOLING RATES OF 0.004 AND 0.008 K/S WERE OPTIMAL FOR OOCYTES VIABILITY RECOVERY.
