Summary
For the use of flammable hydrocarbon as refrigerants in refrigeration systems of more than 0.15 kilograms gas sensors are provided as additional safety device. The sensor principle of the demonstrated detector is based on the infrared-absorption analysis. With the micro structure technology it was possible to develop a compact device integrating the main parts of the infrared-spectrometer. The detector is maintenance-free, long term constant and low costed. The results show, that the sensor is sufficiently correct for propane and i-butane and compensate influences from outside.
