Effect of concentration on condensation heat transfer for binary vapour mixture of water and ethanol.

Author(s) : UTAKA Y., WANG S.

Summary

The condensation heat transfer characteristics curves for binary vapour mixtures of water and ethanol with small concentrations of ethanol vapour, i.e. mass fractions of 0.0 and 0.0002-0.20, were measured under low non-condensing gas concentration realized by using the leak-tight experimental apparatus. It is shown that excellent heat transfer characteristics appear in the extremely low ethanol concentration region because the surface subcooling region dominated by the diffusion resistance is narrow and the variation of the surface tension is large.
