Author(s) : BILLIARD F.

Type of article: Article

Summary

The author analyzes the current situation resulting from the requirement to record storage and transport temperatures of perishable foods. He emphasises EEC standards on quick-frozen products, as well as French standardization, in particular the Pr E18-150 experimental standard and the good practice guides on quick-frozen and chilled food, defined by the professions concerned, under the auspices of the French Association of Refrigeration. He analyzes existing recorders (type, cost, operating principles, and methods of use). He stresses the need to standardize and certify recorders and mentions the objectives of the Pr E18-150 experimental standard, hoping it could be extended to Europe. J.R.
