Experience and perspectives of application two-phase thermosiphons for creation of ice islands in northern water of Russia.

Summary

One of the versions ensuring drilling of wells in the winter period is the construction of ice islands, which have a number of advantages in comparison with other means: smaller costs of construction and maintenance, simplicity of process engineering, ecological cleanness, availability of building materials in immediate proximity. With the purpose of thermostatic control of an ice island, a new generation two-phase thermosiphon-thermostabilisator, permitting forcing the cold in the body of an ice monolith, have found broad application.
