Summary

The results of investigations of prospective refrigerating media as the substitutes for R12 carried out at science and technology centres in Russian Federation are presented in this article. One of the substitutes discussed is the azeotropic blend of R152a and R600a which is designated C1. The next blend discussed in the paper is a zeotropic mixture of a R134a, R218, R600a and designated CM1. The experimental investigations revealed that a decrease in power consumption may be achieved by application of these blends in domestic refrigeration devices in comparison with R12. The new 2- and 3-component "drop-in" blends based on R22 as transition fluids for substitution for R12 are described in the paper. Compatibility with mineral oils commonly used in Russian Federation was discussed as the very important criterion for investigation of new refrigerating media. The results of investigations of the refrigerants discussed are presented in figures and tables.
