Summary

Blend refrigerants are adopted as refrigerant in an auto-cascade refrigeration system. There are several separation and mix junctions of blend refrigerants in system. These parameters in the junctions are strongly influenced by mass flux, concentration, state parameters. In order to study the change of the junctions, a two-stage auto-cascade refrigeration system with R600a/R23 was developed. The temperatures, pressures and charge of mixtures were tested during cooling down of the system with different proportion of the mixture. The experimental results showed that during the system running, the mixing flow temperature is higher than the temperature of the two tributaries at the first, and then declined gradually, about 30 minutes later it lied between the two tributaries temperatures. And the reasonable explanation of the phenomena in theory was also given. The optimum proportion of the blend refrigerants can be achieved according to control of the difference between mix flow temperature and evaporator outlet flow temperature.
