Summary

Frozen seafood consumption increased highly in France from 1985 to 1993, according to a study by Prof. J.P. BOUDE at ENSAR (Rennes). Shellfish consumption especially grew from 15 to 30 thousand tons, while overall seafood consumption went up from 112 to 170 thousand tons. The overall seafood consumption has developed from 675 to 733 millions, therefore the 58,000 million ton increase applies to quick-frozen food only. Y.G.
