THE FRENCH MARKET FOR FROZEN SEA PRODUCTS WAS 114,879 TONNES IN 1987, REPRESENTING AN INCREASE OF 9.8% IN COMPARISON TO 1986. THE NATIONAL PRODUCTION IS 49,876 TONNES (+ 16.2%), IMPORTS 71,154 TONNES (+ 3%) AND EXPORTS 6,651 TONNES (-15.3%). THE DISTRIBUTION OF PRODUCTION BETWEEN FISH, SHELLFISH AND MOLLUSCS IS DETAILED, AS WELL AS THAT CONCERNING IMPORTS AND EXPORTS. STATISTICS SHOW THAT, AMONG OUR SUPPLIERS, EEC COUNTRIES ARE BY FAR IN THE LEAD. J.L.
