Summary

Perishable food logistics has been the subject of a number of studies over the last few years. Although there has been a consensus in general conclusions, a divergence in stating practical conclusions has appeared between the interests of the different professions concerned. The successful concertation in publishing the "Guide to Good Logistics Practice" is therefore welcome. Signed by ten federations of producers, distributors and transporters, this decidedly practical text is meant as a management and control tool for the various operations involved in logistics. It provides information that is directly applicable.
