Summary

Italian translation of a review article published in the IIR Bulletin (see reference 2000-1775). The article describes the technological advances achieved over the past 20 years in the field of heat exchangers used in refrigerating plant. Today, obligations arising from the Montreal and Kyoto Protocols mean that containment of refrigerant fluids has to be improved and greater energy efficiency of refrigerating plant components in general and exchangers in particular must be achieved; reduced refrigerant charge is also required and zeotropic mixtures of natural working fluids must be used. Specific developments will be required in order to adapt the design of exchangers to handle the particular properties of these fluids and to promote a rapid transition towards the application of these "new refrigerants"; this will involve continuing and amplified scientific and technological research.
