Author(s) : MARVILLET C.

Type of article: Periodical article, Review

Summary

In the years to come, refrigeration and air-conditioning professionals will be faced with the following challenges; adapting replacement refrigerants, improving containment, reducing refrigerant fluid charge, achieving better energy efficiency, increasing reliability and reducing costs. At the same time, regulations in general and those applying to refrigerant fluids in particular will change fast and often. The author describes the principal technological innovations according to refrigeration applications and for various types of heat exchangers. He also examines the impact of properties of replacement refrigerants on the design of heat exchangers.
