HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS WERE STUDIED FOR MIXTURES, AS WELL AS THE PROPER ESTIMATION OF THE EQUATION OF STATE, AND THERMAL PROPERTIES. THE MIXTURE R11-R22 IS PROMISING FROM THE THERMODYNAMIC POINT OF VIEW BUT FALLS BEHIND IN THERMAL STABILITY. A HEAT PUMP USING R114-R22 WAS SIMULATED. THE ADVANTAGE OF NON-AZEOTROPIC MIXTURES IS RECOGNIZED IN THE TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION IN THE HEAT EXCHANGER.
