IEA Annex 22. Compression systems with natural working fluids: status and outlook for the project.
Author(s) : STENE J.
Summary
Natural working fluids constitute important alternatives to HFCs in heat pumping systems. Annex 22 of the IEA Implementing Agreement on Heat Pumping Technologies "Compression Systems with Natural Working Fluids" is a three-year project (1995-1997) that aims to expand the knowledge base and develop heat pump system technology using natural working fluids ammonia, hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, water, and air. Eight countries are participating in the Annex: Canada, Denmark, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom and USA. Norway is designated as Operating Agent, through SINTEF Energy. Properties of ammonia, hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, air and water are reviewed and some applications for each of them described.
