Influence of lubricant oil on CO2 heat transfer in minichannel tubes.

Author(s) : SIEGISMUND V., KAUFFELD M.

Summary

This paper describes the design of test facilities and experiments for heat transfer measurements of evaporating CO2/oil mixtures. Experimental results of evaporation tests are presented. The test section consists of a 0.5 m long standard MPE (multi-port extruded) aluminium profile with 13 circular flow channels with a diameter of 0.8 mm each. Design parameters for the test facility and the test matrix were based on requirements for automotive air conditioning, i.e. refrigerant mass flux 60-130 kg/(m2.s), reduced pressure 0.47-0.61, vapour fraction 0.2-0.9 and oil concentration 0-10% by mass.
