Report of the 34th session of the Codex Committee on food hygiene, held in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 8-13, 2001. This report will be discussed during the 25th session of the Codex committee in Rome, Italy, on June 30-July 5, 2003. Extract from the table of contents: draft code of hygiene practice for fresh fruit and vegetables; proposed draft revised guidelines for the application of HACCP system; proposed draft guidelines for the control of Listeria monocytogenes: the document gives guidelines for the control of L. monocytogenes in foods in trade based on considerations of risk assessment and lists a number of risk management options. One option may be the establishment of Microbiological Criteria and recommendations for them are given.
