Author(s) : POPESCU C., STERIU D.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Optimal cryoprotection conditions for Toxoplasma gondii were investigated. The highest level of cell survival was obtained with a continuous slow cooling of 0.2-0.3 deg C/min from 24 to 20 deg C and 1 deg C/min to -60 deg C followed by immersion in liquid nitrogen with 8-10% (v/v) DMSO in RPMI 1640 medium, supplemented with 20 milliM glutamine and fast thawing in 0.5 M sorbitol at 37 deg C.
