THE IMAGE CLEARLY SHOWS THE POSITION OF THE SOLID-LIQUID INTERFACE. A TIMED SEQUENCE OF IMAGES, IN A VIDEO DISPLAY, SHOWS THE DYNAMICS OF FREEZING AND THAWING. THE ALTERED MOBILITY OF THE MATERIALS AS TEMPERATURE CHANGES CAN BE CLEARLY SEEN. A QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE DYNAMICS OF FREEZING BECOMES POSSIBLE, WITHOUT THE NEED TO USE INVASIVE TECHNIQUES TO FOLLOW THE PROPAGATION OF THE INTERFACE.
