Microtube heat transfer scaling effects: an experimental validation.

Author(s) : CELATA G. P., MARCONI V., MCPHAIL S. J., et al.

Summary

The problematic issue of single-phase heat transfer characterization in circular microchannels has been tackled with an experimental set-up designed for as accurate as possible temperature measurements. Several complications occur in microduct diabatic flow, which are mainly linked to the geometry scaling from conventionally sized channels. This study is aimed to highlight the difficulties that are involved in the efficient and controlled implementation of microscale heat transfer.
