Summary
The article gives an update on refrigerants to be used in automobile air conditioning plant. It gives the points of view of the various protagonists (governmental regulations, the Montreal Protocol, automobile manufacturers). Problems encountered when recycling and purifying R12 are outlined, as is experience gained in the field of replacement fluids in general and R134a in particular.
