New quick-freezing technology.
Nouvelle technologie de surgélation.
Author(s) : KOELET P. C.
Type of article: Article
Summary
An IQF (Individual quick freezing) tunnel was developed with the same advantages as a nitrogen or CO2 cryogenic tunnel but associated to a traditional two-stage refrigeration plant and with operating costs twice as low as those of cryogenic tunnels. The new system even leads to shorter freezing times, better quality products with less weight losses. The tunnel is sometimes more compact and is very easy to clean.
