Summary
The article deals with the most important points concerning L. monocytogenes and the agro-food industries. Methods of detection in foods are described, and results are presented by food group. 10% of the analysed food was found to be contaminated, but at levels below that of pathological danger. Basic recommendations are given for consumers.
