Summary

Freshly harvested Lisbon lemons were stored at 8 deg C for up to 15 weeks. Packaging significantly reduced weight loss. Fruits in bags without potassium hydroxide showed the highest incidence of decay (predominantly due to Penicillium digitatum). The presence of potassium hydroxide to absorb moisture within the packaging significantly decreased rotting during 5 weeks of storage plus 1 week of shelf life.
