Quasi stationary pool boiling experiments in liquid nitrogen with various heating procedures.
Author(s) : DULUC M. C., FRANCOIS M. X.
Summary
Experimental results obtained on a thin thermoresistive wire (diameter= 32 micrometers) immersed in a liquid nitrogen bath at saturation under atmospheric pressure are presented. Two different heating procedures, with constant current heating and constant voltage heating, have been used. The main difference is located in the heating transition from nucleate boiling to film boiling. Steady two mode boiling is obtained during cooling transition from film boiling to nucleate boiling. For each controlled parameter, experiments are carried out with various heating rates. Results are given.
