Summary
A comparison is made between the polyglycol-R134a systems used in car air conditioners and the polyester-R134a blends used in buses. Specific properties are discussed, including solvability/mixability and mixture viscosity of PAG and POE lubricants in combination with R134a, based on Daniel plots and mixture gaps. Current developments in lubricants for the natural refrigerant CO2 are presented.
