Summary

This report is released by the IIR and UNEP. It was prepared to serve as input to the World Summit on Sustainable Development, which was held in Johannesburg, on August 26-September 4, 2002 (see also this Bulletin, references 2003 - 0506 and 2003 - 0535). Its objective is to analyse the current status and the role the refrigeration and air-conditioning sector can play in a sustainable development perspective. Extract from the table of contents: the three dimensions of sustainable development (refrigeration stakeholders; social, economic and environmental dimensions); means of implementation: strategies, achievements and limits; challenges (general challenges; industrialized and developing countries). This report is available on the IIR Web site as an exclusive file for IIR members.
