Research on new generation alternatives for HCFCS.

Number: pap. ID: 117

Author(s) : YANG Z., WU X., LIU H., et al.

Summary

State the phase-out progress of HCFCs refrigerants on China and some other countries. On this basis, analyzes and compares the thermodynamic properties, cycling performance and flammability of some frequently-used HCFCs refrigerants and their traditional substitutes, at the same time, some potential environmental-friendly substitutes, to be used in air-conditioners, refrigerators, vending machines and showcases, have been studied. In addition, a new developed alternative for HCFC-22, named RTJU4, is introduced theoretically and experimentally. Results show that HC-290, HFC-32, R717, HFC-161 and RTJU4 with zero ODP and lower GWP, had better thermodynamic characteristics. The flammability of the HFC-32, HFO-1234yf and RTJU4 are better than others. RTJU4 holds an acceptable experimental cycle performance and R717 possesses the better thermodynamic property except the higher discharge temperature.
