Summary

The paper describes the results in terms of colour, flavour, decay and weight loss of several treatments performed on sweet orange. Treatments are: degreening with ethylene, mechanical waxing and packing in vented polyethylene bags. Storage conditions are 25 plus or minus 5 °C. Three preharvest sprays of carbendazim were performed. Appearance and flavour scores were highest after 30 days in degreened fruit treated with Sta-fresh 451 wax, and packed in vented polyethylene lined CFB boxes.
