Summary
Green asparagus spears wrapped in polyethylene film and stored at -0.5 deg C had a shelf life of 30 days. Data are tabulated on film characteristics and on rates of respiration at different storage temperatures (0-25 deg C), and data on changes in weight and sugar content of spears and changes in CO2 contents of packs during storage are graphically presented.
