Tap water supercooling in commercial-size evaporator tubes.

Summary

Because the process of ice generation by water supercooling has a very good potential for district heating and cooling as well as in several other fields, it was felt very important to verify if flows supercooled tap water could be generated when using evaporator tubes of commercial sizes. The objective of the paper is to report on a recent experimental study carried out to further investigate the supercooling phenomenon of a steady flow of unfiltered tap water in 13,8 mm in diameter copper tubes.
