The effects of storage conditions (room temperature: 21-35 °C with forced ventilation, or 4-11 °C) and duration (up to 11 months) on the texture of irradiated (gamma radiation, 60-80 Gy) and non-irradiated onions and garlic were investigated. Onions and garlic can be preserved at room temperature with forced ventilation for 8 to 11 months. Onions can be stored at 4-11 °C for up to 4 months.
