United States: the use of ionizing irradiation is becoming more widespread.
Etats-Unis : l'irradiation gagne du terrain.

Summary
Several firms have claimed the right to perform ionizing irradiation on red meat in the United States, particularly over the past few years during which a series of outbreaks of food-poisoning (due to poorly cooked hamburgers or meat) took place. Manufacturers promoting this technology recently obtained the authorization they were expecting from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and this would seem to to indicate that there is a trend towards use of ionizing irradiation.
