Summary

This "know-how" notebook from CoSTIC presents a coherent set of themes, and comprises a set of separate files. It is devoted to the retrofitting of refrigeration plants using a banned refrigerant whose use will be prohibited in the long term by regulations. It provides elements enabling installers to decide whether to continue using an existing plant simply by replacing the refrigerant, or whether major retrofitting must be implemented; the latter often involves changing the main components. The notebook contains 7 files: refrigerants: main characteristics; specific precautions for using HFC fluids; physical properties of a few HFC refrigerants; lubrication of refrigeration plants: oil properties; oil families; converting an existing plant: "drop in"; "retrofitting".
