Summary

Competence and achievements of Airgaz and SIAC (Société Industrielle de l'Anhydride Carbonique) companies in the field of production and delivery of gas for the food industry (nitrogen and CO2). An example of this CO2 recovery process: the implementation of a quick-freezing system for market of "choice" bakery products at the Brossard Surgelés company (France). This CO2 recovery, a first in industry, results in a saving of energy while maintaining the quality of the refrigeration. The production of dry ice for cooling generates a build-up of 50% of carbon dioxide which is recovered, recompressed and sent to the tank. This solution decreases the freezing cost by 20%. J.V.
