Summary

FOLLOWING A VOLUNTARY CONTRACT-BASED COOPERATION, PROCESSORS AND PRODUCERS ARE SEEKING METHODS TO INCREASE FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PRODUCTION AS WELL AS PRODUCTS OF COMPOSITION AND QUALITYWHICH ARE SUITABLE FOR FREEZING AND COLD STORAGE PARTICULAR ATTENTION IS BEING GIVEN TO HARVESTING TECHNOLOGY, HANDLING AND TRANSPORT, WITH SPECIAL REGARD TO SPINACH AND PEAS. MECHANIZED HANDLING IS BEING APPLIED TO FRUIT SUCH AS RED CURRANTS, APRICOTS AND CHERRIES, AS WELL AS ROOT VEGETABLES. RAPID DEVELOPMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE IN POTATO PROCESSING.
