Summary
THE PAPER PRESENTS AN OVERVIEW OF CURRENT RESEARCH ON THERMO-PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF SEVERAL PROMISING CFC ALTERNATIVES. THE EMPHASIS IS GIVEN TO THE MOST RECENT RESULTS ON BENIGN CFC SUBSTITUTES FROM RESEARCH PROGRAMS IN JAPAN. THE ENVIRONMENTALLY ACCEPTABLE REFRIGERANTS TO BE CONSIDERED PROSPECTIVE INCLUDE NOT ONLY THE PURE REFRIGERANTS SUCH AS R134A, R123, R141B AND R142B, BUT ALSO SOME NON-AZEOTROPIC REFRIGERANT BLENDS AND/OR < NEAR-AZEOTROPIC > REFRIGERANT MIXTURES.
