Summary

THE TEST RESULTS OF A CONTAINER OF SPECIAL DESIGN WITH CONTROLLED WATER VAPOUR CONDENSATION FOR THE STORAGE OF TOMATOES, EGGPLANTS AND SWEET PEPPERS IN A CONVENTIONAL GAS ATMOSPHERE AND IN MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE ARE GIVEN. IT WAS ESTABLISHED THAT THE OVERALL WEIGHT LOSSES OF PRODUCTS DURING STORAGE IN A MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE WITH THE USE OF AN INDIRECT COOLING SYSTEM AND CONTROLLED REMOVAL OF THE CONDENSATE ARE THREE TIMES LOWER THAN IN NORMAL ATMOSPHERE AND 1,5 TIMES TO TWICE LOWER THAN IN SEALED POLYETHYLENE BAGS WITH SELECTIVE GAS FILTRATION MEMBRANES.
