Summary

PLASMID PPLI AND RP4 COULD BE CURED FROM PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA AND ESCHERICHIA COLI RESPECTIVELY BY COMMON PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL CURING PROCESSES. FREEZE-THAW BUT NOT FROZEN STORAGE CAUSED A DOSE-DEPENDENT LOSS OF PLASMID FROM THE STRAINS. CRYOPROTECTIVE AGENTS PREVENTED LOSS OF PLASMID FROM CRYOPRESERVED CULTURES. THE CRYOPRESERVATION OF PLASMID CONTAINING BACTERIA IS DISCUSSED IN LIGHT OF THE CURING EFFECTS OF THIS STRESS.
