IMPACT OF THE MONTREAL PROTOCOL ON AUTOMOTIVE AIR CONDITIONING.

Author(s) : KERN J., WALLNER R.

Summary

THE PAPER LOOKS AT THE GENERAL DESIGN FEATURES OF AUTOMOTIVE AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEMS AND THEIR R12 CONSUMPTION AND EMISSION. POTENTIAL CONTROLS FOR REDUCING R12 EMISSION AND CONSUMPTION ARE OUTLINED, INCLUDING AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM MEASURES. IT IS CONCLUDED THAT THE MONTREAL PROTOCOL WILL DEFINITELY HAVE A HEAVY IMPACT ON AUTOMOTIVE AIR CONDITIONING GIVEN THE HIGH R12 CONSUMPTION RATE IN THE UNITED STATES AND JAPAN.
