Investigation of semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors using propane in comparison to R22 and R404A.

Summary

Calorimetric test of a semi-hermetic compressor using R290 (propane) are explained and the tests are compared to R22 and R404A in the climatic, normal and low temperature field. As assessment criteria are taken into account the effect of liquefaction temperature as well as the superheat of the suction gas. Then the particular requirements for the choice of lubricant and the measures to reduce the high dissolution rate of propane in oil are discussed.
