Summary

In order to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, the European Union legislation 2006/40/EC bans from January 2011 the cooperative marketing of new car types that use refrigerants in their HVAC systems with global warming potential (GWP) higher than 150. Currently as the most promising alternative refrigerants of R134a, HFO-1234yf (2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene) is most attractive.
On the basis of new and reliable experimental data, this volume of the Thermodynamic Tables provides a summary of general properties, literature survey, and saturation properties of HFO-1234yf. A thermodynamic equation of state and ancillary equations for the ideal-gas isobaric heat capacity and the surface tension are presented.
Extract from the table of contents: symbols and units; conversion factors; general properties (key properties, enthalpy of vaporization, saturation pressures, surface tensions); database (critical point, ideal-gas specific heat-capacities, surface tensions, vapour pressures, saturation densities, PVT properties, heat capacities and speeds of sound); equation of state (Helmholtz energy equation of state, thermodynamic properties).
In the appendix: thermophysical property tables; pressure-enthalpy diagram.
