Market successes of natural refrigerants: twenty years of progress.
Number: keynote n. 5
Author(s) : PEARSON A.
Summary
This paper looks back at the successes (and near misses) of the last twenty years in the application of natural working fluids to refrigeration and heat pump systems. It describes the background to the initiation of the International Institute of Refrigeration’s series of Gustav Lorentzen conferences in 1994 and considers the ways in which the market has matured since then. Several case studies of successful technologies, grouped by working fluid, are presented. In conclusion the lessons learned from this review are discussed and some indicators of possible future successes are outlined.
