ON THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONTINUOUS COLD CHAIN.

Author(s) : KONOVALOV N. P.

Summary

ENERGY CONSUMPTION CONSISTS IN INCREASING THE PRODUCTION OF CHILLED MEAT, AS THE CHILLING COST IS THREE TIMES LOWER THAN WHEN FREEZING AND THE COST FOR THE REFRIGERATED STORAGE OF MEAT IS TWICE LOWER THAN THAT FOR FROZEN STORAGE. IT SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT THAT THE STORAGE OF 1 TON OF FROZEN MEAT IN A COLD STORE REQUIRES, ON AN AVERAGE, 35 KILOWATTHOUR OF ENERGY. THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH CHILLED MEAT.
