MUSCADINE GRAPES ROTTED TWICE QUICKER AT 20 THAN AT 10 DEG C AND THREE TIMES QUICKER AT 10 THAN AT 0 DEG C. THE ROTTING PERCENTAGE OF GRAPES WITH DRY SCARS OF STEMS (UNTORN) VARIED DEPENDING ON THE ORIGIN. GRAPES STORED OVER A SHORT TIME (ONE WEEK) AT 0 deg C HAD LITTLE ROT, WHATEVER THE STATE OF STEMS. GRAPES WITH TORN SCARS OF STEMS STORED ONE WEEK AT 10 deg C OR THREE WEEKS AT 0 deg C HAD 6-10 TIMES MORE ROT THAN GRAPES WITH DRY SCARS OF STEMS.
