Summary

A CORRECTION FORMULA IS PROPOSED, WHICH CAN BE APPLIED TO ANY PREDICTION METHOD FOR FREEZING AND THAWING TIMES. THE ACCURACY OF THE CORRECTION WAS CHECKED BY COMPARING THE PREDICTED TIMES WITH THOSE CALCULATED BY AN ACCURATE NUMERICAL METHOD, UNDER VARIOUS OPERATING CONDITIONS. THE PREDICTIONS WERE WITHIN MORE OR LESS 10% OF THE CALCULATED VALUES WITH A RELIABILITY OF 95%, FOR FREEZING, AND WITHIN MORE OR LESS 6% FOR THAWING.
