Type of article: Article

Summary

Salmonella was isolated in 30% of the samples of fresh meat and in 20% of the samples of frozen meat. The presence of Salmonella in the meat is thought to be due to the contamination of the hide while the animals were growing in polluted waters, as well as to poor hygienic practices during skinning.
