Summary

TRIALS WERE CARRIED OUT TO DETERMINE THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT RIPENING TEMPERATURES AFTER COLD STORAGE ON WOOLLINESS, AND ALSO THE EFFECT OF RIPENESS AND VARYING RIPENINGTEMPERATURES AFTER COLD STORAGE ON WOOLLINESS. THE PROBLEM CAN BE REDUCED OR ELIMINATED BY HARVESTING RIPER FRUIT, APPLYING A DELAY PERIOD PRIOR TO OR DURING COLD STORAGE, AND USING A HIGHER RIPENING TEMPERATURE AFTER COLD STORAGE. G.R.S.
